Our cow magnets are made from Alnico (a combination of aluminum, nickel, and cobalt) and are shaped like a smooth rod, measuring 0.5" diameter by 3" long.

The main purpose of a cow magnet is to attract and hold any metal objects in cow's stomach, thereby preventing these objects from causing harm to the stomach. The magnet helps reduce the risk of hardware disease, which can occur when sharp objects puncture or irritate the cow's stomach. The magnet creates a mass of iron in the rumen, known as a pseudobezoar, which helps to avoid the complications associated with hardware disease.
